The Evolution of Cross Stitch: A Journey through Time

Hey guys, what's up? I'm Jules, and thank you for joining me for another video on Flosstube. I can't believe it, but I'm entering my seventh year of being a part of this incredible cross stitch community. Over the last seven years, so much has changed, and I'm thrilled to share the evolution of cross stitch and what it means to me. For those who have been following me from the beginning, thank you for your unwavering support. And to those who are new here, welcome! I hope you find joy and inspiration in the world of cross stitch.

First and foremost, I want to express my gratitude to all of you who have purchased my patterns through local needlework shops. It means the world to me, and it makes a significant difference, both for the shops and for myself. I'd like to give a special shoutout to Needleworks in Texas. I've heard nothing but amazing things about their store, and I hope to visit one day and experience the stitching stores around the country.

Now, let's talk about the exciting news! I've been super busy this week preparing to release two new patterns on my Etsy store. The first pattern is the much-awaited French Bulldog design, which I pulled out to show you guys. It's going to be absolutely adorable, and I can't wait to see your finished projects on different fabrics and colors. The second pattern is the Giraffe Selfie, which is coming along nicely. I've completed a significant portion of the design and can't wait to see it all stitched up.

But wait, there's more! I've also been working on other patterns that will be available soon. I created a beautiful Sea Turtle pattern, inspired by requests from stitchers who love sea creatures. The Muhammad Ali pattern, titled "The Champ," is another new release that captures the iconic athlete in a grayscale design. Additionally, I've created a monochrome pattern called Train Stop, which features a dense yet captivating design.

In addition to these new patterns, I've made some updates to existing designs. The Baby Girl Heart pattern is now available in a smaller size and can be stitched on any shade of fabric. Violin Sheet Music is another pattern that I've downsized to make it more manageable for stitchers. And for those who are interested in the Book Street pattern, I'm considering splitting it into three separate patterns to offer more options.

I'm also excited to share that I've been working on updating my Asian-inspired patterns. I've reduced the stitch count and color count on these designs to make them more accessible and stitchable for everyone. I aim to create patterns that are both enjoyable and achievable for stitchers of all levels.

In conclusion, I am incredibly grateful for the support of this amazing cross stitch community. Your enthusiasm and passion drive me to create more designs and continue sharing my love for this craft. I hope you enjoy stitching the new patterns and exploring the updated ones. Stay safe, happy stitching, and see you soon!

Q: Can I stitch the French Bulldog and Giraffe Selfie patterns on different colors of fabric?

A: Absolutely! The beauty of cross stitch is the ability to customize and personalize your projects. Feel free to experiment with various fabric colors to create unique and stunning finished pieces.

Q: Will you be releasing printed versions of the new patterns?

A: Currently, the new patterns are only available in digital format on my Etsy store. However, some local needlework shops, like Cross Stitch Cupboard in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, may offer printed versions. Check with your local shops for availability.

Q: Are the monochrome patterns suitable for beginners?

A: While the monochrome patterns may seem dense and intricate, they can be an excellent choice for beginners. The use of a single color simplifies the stitching process, allowing beginners to focus on mastering the basic techniques of cross stitch.
