Etsy Shop Restock Announcement
Hello everyone and welcome back to my channel. I have a really quick video just to tell you guys that I am having my next Etsy restock, and I am so excited to show you guys the new prints that I will be having. There will be very few copies of the past prints available as well. Today is the 24th of May, and I'm going to get this announcement up on the 25th. The restock is happening on May 26th at 12 p.m Eastern Standard Time, so I wanted to give you guys a day in advance to prepare. I know sometimes people miss out on the authors that they want, so I want to make sure you have plenty of time to watch this video and plan your visit to my Etsy shop.
The Etsy Portrait Series
If you don't know what my Etsy author portrait series is, let me give you a brief introduction. It is a series of illustrations that I do and film for my reading vlogs. I take different authors and draw their portraits. What started as a project for one of my university classes turned into something that you all loved seeing from me. Your support has allowed me to pursue my dreams, and my artwork is now in homes all around the world. I am incredibly grateful for your support.
Returning Authors
Let's start with the returning authors. The first one is Jane Austen. She is featured on the title page of "Pride and Prejudice" as well as the first page of the book. I have about 24 or 25 prints of her available. The next returning author is Leo Tolstoy. This print is one of my most popular ones. It features the Russian text of "Anna Karenina" on one side and a separate drawing of Tolstoy himself on the other side. This print is priced at $10 due to the double illustrations.
The third returning print is the Dickens versus Tolstoy print. This one is also priced at $10 because you are getting two illustrations on one card. The first illustration features a young Charles Dickens on the page of his handwritten manuscript of "A Tale of Two Cities." The second illustration features a young Tolstoy on the page of the illustrated title page of "The Pickwick Papers." This print was created for my Dickens versus Tolstoy debate with my friend Emma from her YouTube channel.
New Authors
Now let's move on to the new authors that I am introducing in this restock. The first one is Hans Christian Andersen. This print is priced at $8 and features Andersen on the title page of his fairy tales. On the other side, you will find his narrative paper cuttings, which tell the stories of his fairy tales through the imagery in the paper cuttings. This was a fascinating discovery for me during my research on Andersen.
Next up is Thomas Hardy, one of my favorite authors. Hardy is featured on the page of his handwritten manuscript of "Tess of the d'Urbervilles" on one side and the manuscript of "Far from the Madding Crowd" on the other side. I have been wanting to create a portrait of Hardy for a long time, and I am thrilled with how this print turned out.
Another new addition is Louisa May Alcott, who is featured on the title page of "Little Women" and a handwritten letter she wrote about the book before or while she was writing it. I love that I was able to include snippets of her handwriting in this print.
Agatha Christie, the queen of mystery, is also part of the new collection. She is featured on the page of "The Body in the Library" from the Crime Club. This print also includes the page of "The Mysterious Affair at Styles," one of her famous books. I'm not a huge mystery reader myself, but I am excited to have her as part of the series.
Last but not least, we have John Steinbeck. He is featured on the page of "East of Eden," one of his iconic novels, as well as a letter he wrote to his editor along with the manuscript. I love the story behind this print, as Steinbeck personally carved a box for his manuscript and included this letter. It adds such a personal touch to the illustration.
Harry Styles Print
Now, for something a little different, I have created a portrait of Harry Styles. I was inspired by a photograph of him featured in a magazine, and I couldn't resist sketching it. Due to popular demand, I decided to make it available as a print as well. The original black and white sketch has been colorized using digital techniques, and it features a quote from Harry Styles himself. This print will be priced at $10 and will be available separately from the other authors.
Conclusion
