Studio Vlog: Coffee Mornings and Creative Ideas

Hello, guys! Welcome to another studio vlog. Today, I'm coming to you from a slightly different setting. I'm currently sitting in mine and Emily's favorite coffee shop, where we come to chill, brainstorm, and work on new projects. It's our little creative haven. Today's agenda is slightly different, as I'll be attempting to design some washi tape for the first time ever. I'm excited to see how it turns out. Additionally, I'll be working on Valentine's stickers and Geryon, which are new additions to my Etsy store. So grab your sketchbooks and join me on this creative journey.

After a productive coffee morning, we're back in the studio. We had a lovely time discussing ideas and getting our creative juices flowing. Now, it's time to get to work on fulfilling some orders and tackling our to-do lists. Before diving into design work, I wanted to express my gratitude to everyone who enjoyed the designer's worst nightmare Inge with the co-extends from last week's vlog. It's always hilarious to hear your reactions. As a response, I'll be making prints of those designs and adding them to my store. I understand that not everyone can afford the pricey MOOCs, so I'm making more affordable options available for you. Now, let's get down to business.

It's Wednesday, and we're already halfway through the week. The past few days haven't been eventful enough for me to film, as I've been occupied with packaging orders and handling various administrative tasks. However, today's agenda is more exciting. I'll be focusing on designing washi tape and Valentine's stickers. The washi tape needs to be sent off soon to ensure it arrives in time for Valentine's Day. I also have some gingy stickers to create, which I sketched during our coffee shop session on Friday. There's a lot to do, but before diving into the design work, I need to grab a coffee and process a few orders that need shipping. I'll also be getting my nails done today, just a little self-care treat before diving into work.

After a quick break to get my nails done, I'm back in the studio. FedEx delivered a package containing some new pin designs. Let's do a quick unboxing to see what we've got. Wow, these are amazing! The glitter pens and the new pins are fantastic. I'm excited to add them to my collection. Changing things up from gold-plated to silver-plated was a fun decision. It freshens up the look. I'm really looking forward to showcasing them in my store.

Now that the pin unboxing is complete, it's time to shift our focus to designing the washi tape. I've spent some time creating illustrations of ginger and spice, charms that will be perfect for Valentine's Day or as a year-round representation of love. They'll make a great addition to planners and other stationery items. I've laid out the designs on the computer and printed a test sheet to ensure everything looks as desired. The size is just right, and the details are clear. I'm excited to see how they turn out once they're printed and cut.

While the printing process is underway, I'll start working on the washi tape designs. This is a project I've been wanting to dive into for a long time, and I'm thrilled to finally have the opportunity to create my own washi tape. It's a new venture that takes me out of my comfort zone, but I'm ready to embrace the challenge. The designs are ready, and now I need to transfer them to the computer to finalize them. Once they're polished and cleaned up, I'll send them off to the manufacturer. It's an exciting step, and I can't wait to see the final product.

After a series of printing tests and adjustments, I've finally achieved the desired result with the gingy and spice stickers. They turned out adorable! The size is perfect for showcasing all the details, and they are larger than the average sticker to ensure clarity. I'm satisfied with how they've turned out and can't wait to make them available for purchase. Additionally, I'll be creating a sticker set with each design individually, without mixing them. This way, customers can choose their favorite characters. I'm beyond excited for this new addition to my Etsy store.

Time has flown by, and it's now the end of the week. I've been focused on packaging orders and catching up on work while Emily was sick. Fortunately, we're now all caught up, and I have some goodies to open. Usually, I'd do this with Emily, but today it's just me. Let's dive into the surprises that Etsy shops have sent my way.

The first package is from Splash of Unicorn. Inside, I find some handmade resin pins. They are sparkly and absolutely adorable. I used to make pins myself, so I appreciate the effort that goes into creating these unique designs. Thank you so much for the thoughtful package.

Next, I open a box from Daisy's Mom. The package contains a cute handmade Christmas ornament and a personalized keychain. The whimsical designs make me smile, and I already have the perfect spot for the ornament on my Christmas tree next year. Thank you for such lovely gifts.

Lastly, I uncover a package from Cuddle Kettle. The quality of the handmade pins is outstanding. I'm impressed by the attention to detail and the unique designs. Sailor Moon and Harry Potter elements are always a hit, and I'm excited to display these pins. Thank you for sending them my way.
