Introduction

Welcome to my month four Etsy update on my digital sales Etsy store! In this article, I will be sharing my progress and experiences since starting my store in April 2023. I had set a goal to reach $11,000 in monthly sales by December, but unfortunately, I am not on track to achieve that goal. Join me as I discuss the lessons learned, marketing tactics, store competition, and the results of my fourth month.

Background and Goals

To understand my journey better, let me provide some background on my store and its intent. In my earlier videos, I have delved into details about the products I am selling and my marketing strategies. If you are interested, you can check these videos out for a deeper understanding of my store. However, in this update, I will primarily focus on the progress I have made and the challenges I have faced along the way.

Lessons Learned

Throughout my journey, I have learned valuable lessons about running an Etsy store. From marketing tactics to advertising and customer engagement, I have gained insights that have shaped my approach. I will share these lessons with you, hoping that they will be beneficial for your own entrepreneurial endeavors.

Marketing Tactics

Marketing plays a crucial role in the success of any online business. In this section, I will discuss the marketing tactics I have employed to promote my Etsy store. From social media strategies to email marketing, I will explore the various methods I have utilized to attract potential customers and increase sales.

Etsy Store Competition

Running a successful Etsy store involves understanding and navigating through the competition. In this section, I will discuss the competition I have encountered in my particular industry. I will share my observations, experiences, and strategies for standing out in a crowded marketplace.

Month Four Update

Let's dive into the details of my fourth month's performance. From the 14th of July to the 15th of August, I maintained 70 listings and did not add any new items during this period. Due to other commitments, I was unable to give my store the attention it deserved. However, this unintentional "hands-off" approach revealed some interesting results, which I will discuss in the following sections.

Visits and Orders

Despite my lack of active involvement, my Etsy store received a total of 608 visits during month four. I received 13 orders, which was slightly lower than the previous month. It is important to note that both the third and fourth months saw a decrease in orders compared to the initial months. This could be attributed to external factors such as increased competition or seasonal variations.

Conversion Rate and Revenue

The conversion rate for month four stood at 2.1%, slightly lower compared to the previous month. Surprisingly, my revenue for this month was $12.45, the highest among all the previous months. Although I did not run any sales or promotions, the increase in revenue could be due to selling higher-priced items. However, the overall inconsistency and unpredictability of the numbers make it challenging to draw concrete conclusions.

Expenses and Ad Spend

During this period, my expenses amounted to $31.80 for AI M journey and $12.99 for Canva. Interestingly, I did not utilize either of these tools during this month. Additionally, I continued to run ads for four listings, with a total ad spend of $32.35. Despite not actively promoting my store, these ads generated 121 clicks and resulted in eight sales.

Future Plans and Conclusion

Based on the results and experiences of the fourth month, I have gained valuable insights for my future plans. While unintentional, this experiment has provided me with new perspectives on managing an Etsy store. Moving forward, I intend to dedicate more time and effort to my store, exploring new marketing strategies and increasing the number of listings. By adapting to the changing marketplace and consistently providing quality products, I hope to achieve my sales goals in the upcoming months.

In conclusion, running an Etsy store requires a combination of strategic marketing, adaptability, and consistency. It is essential to stay updated on industry trends and competition while finding ways to engage and attract customers. Remember, the journey may have its obstacles, but with dedication and perseverance, success is within reach. Stay tuned for more updates on my Etsy store progress in the coming months.
