Behind the Scenes of Lydia Mama Forward: A Journey of Creativity and Faith

Welcome back to my channel! How are you all doing? My name is Lydia, and I'm the owner of Mama Forward, a small shop where I bring my creative ideas to life. On this channel, I share behind-the-scenes peeks of my business on Tuesdays, and on Fridays, I focus on rebuilding my faith. If you enjoy watching videos about entrepreneurship and personal growth, don't forget to hit the Subscribe button and turn on your notification bell. And to all my loyal viewers, thank you for joining me once again.

In today's video, I want to dive deep into a project I'm incredibly excited about – creating mom glasses for my shop. I recently had a brilliant idea and couldn't wait to bring it to life. So, in order to be ahead of the game, I'm going to make them now and release them next month, just in time for Mother's Day.

Before we jump into the process, let me show you the designs I'll be working on. These mom glasses are beautifully simple, with each one featuring the word "Mama" and a unique design. I'm considering offering them in classic black or a stylish black and white combination. There are two sizes available – a 20-ounce glass and a 16-ounce glass – catering to different preferences. The designs range from elegant and timeless to trendy and eye-catching.

Let's talk about how I'll be creating these glasses. I'll be using my handy Cricut machine to cut the vinyl for the designs. If you have a Cricut, you probably already know the process, but don't worry if you're new to it. If you'd like a detailed tutorial, just let me know in the comments below, and I'll be happy to make an in-depth video for you.

Now, let's address a minor setback I encountered during this project – Design Space. Ah, the joys and frustrations of using Design Space. As I was about to start the project, the dreaded sign-in request popped up, and before I realized, I had lost all my work. I completely forgot to save it! Doesn't Design Space have a habit of testing our patience? I let out a sigh of frustration, but quickly collected myself and started again. Lesson learned – save your work frequently!

After overcoming the Design Space glitch, I successfully cut the designs in black vinyl. However, there was a surprise during the weeding process. One of the designs turned out to be larger than anticipated. It seemed more fitting for a t-shirt than a glass. I'll need to adjust the sizing for future use. It's all about trial and error, right?

With the vinyl cut and weeded, it's time to apply them onto the glasses. This is where the magic happens. I take each glass and carefully place the vinyl design on it, ensuring it fits perfectly. The end result is a stylish and personalized mom glass that any mother would love.

But my journey doesn't stop here. I decided to take this project a step further and create four more designs. The demand for these glasses has been incredible, and I want to make sure I have enough stock, especially since my mom is coming to visit soon. The plan is to take photos, make videos, and create content in advance, so I can still engage with my audience even during family time.

I recently expanded the collection to include a bridal shop, where the mom glasses will also be available. To cater to different tastes and preferences, I'll be offering customization options. Customers can choose the size, design, and even the color of the vinyl. While classic black remains a popular choice, there will be other color options available upon request, as long as I have the color in stock.

Adding a personal touch to the mom glasses is another exciting feature. Each glass will include a birth flower design next to the word "Mama." The birth flower holds special significance and represents the month of the person's birth. Customers can personalize the glass by selecting the appropriate flower and providing the name they want to be added alongside it. It's a thoughtful way to create a unique and meaningful gift.

Once the glasses are ready, it's time to package them for shipping. In a future video, I'll take you through my packaging process, ensuring that each glass is well-protected and arrives in perfect condition. As the demand for these glasses grows, I anticipate a busy market, especially with the upcoming Mother's Day celebration. It's a joy to see my creations bring happiness to others.

Before I sign off, I have some exciting updates to share. As some of you may know, I recently sold my bees and containers. The journey of selling them was filled with challenges, but I persevered and succeeded. Stay tuned for an upcoming video where I'll share the behind-the-scenes struggles and triumphs of this experience.

Thank you for joining me on this behind-the-scenes journey of creativity and faith. I hope this video has given you a glimpse into my process and the love I pour into each mom glass. Don't forget to check out Lydia and Co, my Etsy shop, where you'll find these beautiful creations. Until next time, take care and stay inspired. Bye!
